Internship Experience

A huge part of the Language & International Health major is the abroad internship experience. Students are required to complete a 150 hour internship experience in the country in which they study abroad. In my experience, I worked in a pediatric emergency room at the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Santiago in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. This experience was one of the most immersive of my life and allowed me to observe and develop close relationships with doctors, nurses, and medical residents to learn more about Spain's healthcare system, and process to becoming a doctor. Below, I have attached a paper I wrote in Spanish reflecting about my experience during this internship abroad as well as one of the most prevalent health issues I noticed throughout my time experiencing the clinician side of Spain's emergency healthcare system.
